Left Behind or Lead Astray - a sad commentary on the state of the church today.

Everything in this world is upside down including the church, which should be the one shining bright spot in all the world!

The recent shootings of five Dallas police officers preceded by the death of two black men by police officers in Louisiana and Minnesota have got the country in an uproar.

The church is also in an uproar over many things.  The most recent for me is something I stumbled upon by accident, a new movie produced by Good Fight Ministries, "Left Behind or Led Astray."

The trailer from this movie indicates that the content endeavors to prove that the teaching of a pre-trib rapture stems from occultic and demonic sources.  According to the trailer the pre-trib rapture theory was a new teaching developed in the 1800s by men of questionable character.

I take exception to all these claims.  I had never even heard of these people named in the video until the last few years.  I hold my pre-trib views based on forty years of bible study.  I have been reading the bible through systematically for most of those forty years over and over from Genesis through to Revelation.  The typology for the rapture is throughout both the Old and New Testament.  Isaiah 26:20-21, 57:1-2.  Enoch, the gentile's secret rapture years before the destruction of the flood.  Elijah, the Jew's rapture in front of all who were present.  The event of John being told to come up here in Revelation followed by the two witnesses being told to come up here also in Revelation.

So, to the question of pre-trib as presented in the video.  This video seems to indicate that the pre-trib rapture is the great apostasy.  I contend the great apostasy is ongoing and is the original lie from the garden "Ye shall be as Gods" Genesis 3:5.  The advance of contemplative prayer, labyrinth walking, channeled books from demons such as "Jesus Calling," dominion theology etc. into the church derailing the true gospel of Jesus Christ is much more serious than someone believing in a pre-trib rapture.

Jesus Christ said from the Cross of Calvary, "It is Finished!"  It is my understanding that most of those who do not believe in a pre-trib rapture, believe the Tribulation to be an event whereby the Bride of Christ will be purified.  To even say such a thing is to indicate that the shed blood of Jesus Christ is not enough to make us white as snow, is not enough to purify us, is not enough to make us righteous before God.  To even say such a thing speaks to a works based doctrine and flies in the face of

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Christians have always been persecuted, tortured, martyred for their faith in Christ Jesus and there are those who have not been.  To be Christian puts you at risk for the wrath of fallen evil men.  But the Tribulation is the time of the Lamb's Wrath and God's Wrath poured out upon wicked unrepentant mankind.

I Thessalonians 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

As Christians we are either appointed to God's Wrath or we or not appointed to God's Wrath.  It can't be both.  As Christians we are either appointed to Salvation through Jesus Christ or we or not appointed.  It can't be both.

The post tribulation rapture theory does not take into account that if everyone who is saved receives their immortal, incorruptible bodies at the end of the Tribulation - then who will be the mortals who enter the millennial kingdom of Jesus Christ? And rebel against God after Satan is released at the end of the Millennial Reign.  You can't be a human and immortal at the same time.

Isaiah 65:20 No more shall an infant from there live but a few days nor an old  man who has not fulfilled his days; for the child shall die one hundred years old, but the sinner being one hundred years old shall be accursed.

The glorious new creation after the Tribulation is discussed in Isaiah 65:17-25

The producers of this movie contend that their goal is not to cause division and that holding to a different view about the timing of the rapture shouldn't be a source of contention between the brethren.   After reading many reviews and comments concerning this production, that is all it seems to have done.

Why have they simply not used scripture to support their views, but instead have used events and people outside the biblical text to tear to pieces those who hold a different view.

I smell a rat.

Go and study your bibles for yourselves!  And quit denigrating and belittling those who don't believe your view of the rapture!
