The Dividing LIne between Christians and Jews - The Diety of Jesus Christ Part III

A Seed?  An only Son for a Sacrifice?  God's provision for that Sacrifice?  Obedience unto death?

Where is that one Seed going to originate?  As I referenced in Part I of this Blog according to Isaiah 7:13-14 and Luke 1:26-35 that seed is coming from the House of David conceived by a virgin.  This is further attested to in Jeremiah 23:5.

Jeremiah 23:5-6 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.  6 In his days Judah shall be saved and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
In Hebrew "The Lord Our Righteousness" is translated Jehovah-tsidkenu.  Therefore, this clarifies that He is God.  Further clarification that this is God is recorded in Exodus.

Exodus 6:2-3 And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD: 3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JE-HO'-VAH was I not known to them.

So, we know by the above that the Seed is coming from the House of David and that Seed is God.

An only Son for a Sacrifice?

It is really important in scripture to catch the nuances.  One section of scripture may be dealing with several events occurring in different dimensions and times.  Some scriptures are pictures of events that have or will occur outside of time and yet intersect with time.  Some scriptures might start off speaking of one thing and by the time you are through with that passage it has described three different things occurring at three different times. PAY ATTENTION! to the nuances.

Daniel 9:24-27 is one of those passages.  It starts off telling us how many weeks there are going to be in the history of Israel.  But you have to make sure you see all those components in just that one verse!  It is the timeline for the Jewish people, the holy city, to finish transgression and make and end of sin, reconciliation for iniquity etc.  In that one verse is the timeline for NINE different items!!  And to make it even more difficult that timeline is not in sequence. The next two verses then deal specifically with a very concise, exact event that will happen to one person who is notated as "the Messiah the Prince." It should also be noted that "the Messiah the Prince" is referred to as "the most Holy" in verse 24 of Daniel. Then in the middle of the second verse dealing with "the Messiah the Prince" it starts dealing with "the prince that shall come."  And the references to "the prince that shall come" continues to the end of the following verse.  This one section covers thousands of years and jumps all around in that span of time.  For this Blog we are only concerned with the Son who will be the sacrifice.  Remember there can be no forgiveness of sin without the shedding of blood.

Daniel 9:24-26 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. 25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. 26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off but not for himself: . . .

Here in Daniel we are told that the Messiah is going to be cut off but not for himself.  Isaiah tells us who "the Messiah the Prince" is cut off for,

Isaiah 53:6, 10-12; 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.  10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.  11 He shall see of the travail of his soul and shall be satisfied by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

The entire 53rd Chapter of Isaiah is about "the Messiah the Prince" first coming and the purpose of that coming.  Here in this one chapter we find "the Seed," "an only Son for Sacrifice," "God's provision for that Sacrifice," and finally, "Obedience unto Death."

There is only one man in history who fulfilled these parameters and that is the Man, Christ Jesus.  Who said of Himself in

John 8:56-58 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. 57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou are not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? 58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
There is only one that goes by the name "I AM."

Exodus 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shall thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
Anyone that tells you Jesus Christ never proclaimed to be God is a liar.  What else are they lying about?  Make sure you search the scriptures daily to see if what people are saying about God's Word is true.

The trail is there if you are honestly willing to follow it to its conclusion.  Passover is right around the corner.  Have you accepted the Passover Lamb as your Lord and Savior?  The Passover Lamb, Jesus Christ, I AM, is Deity - the second person of the Godhead.
